Our History

St. Paul's Lutheran Church

The development of St. Paul’s Lutheran Homes is the result of Pastor E W Fischer, who advocated to building aged care units for independent living on the land that St. Paul’s congregation owned. Established in 1976, it has now developed into a retirement community with 66 independent living units with an additional 4 new units under construction and the 80 bed home which provides residential care, respite care and dedicated facilities for residents requiring memory support services.

Situated in historic Hahndorf in the beautiful Adelaide Hills; approximately 30 minutes drive from the city and within reach of public transport and shopping centres, St. Paul’s is a preferred choice for residents and families looking for a relaxed lifestyle. The popular hills region boasts everything from the picturesque countryside with beautiful scenic drive routes to the bustling main street with local tourist attractions and provincial producers selling their goods.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Homes is a public not-for-profit organisation based on Christian values and ethos. Our company members are from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Nairne Redeemer Lutheran Church. We pride ourselves on our ability to care for residents from low to high care ensuring independence for as long as possible.
