Costs will depend upon the individual financial situation. A daily care fee is applicable for every resident and the Department of Human Services provides a mandatory assessment to ascertain whether a resident is supported, required to pay a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) or pay a means tested care fee; this is due to any income generated from superannuation payments or investments. The RAD is set by St Paul’s Lutheran Homes.

We cannot guarantee a place in St. Paul’s Residential Care, however we do check regularly with our residents to ascertain whether they need to go on our waiting list, or if they need any assistance. This process assists in ensuring residents do not miss out on a place in our Residential Care facility should their health take a decline and their care requirements increase.

As St. Paul’s has ageing in place residents can remain with us as their care needs increase. Our secure dementia facilities ensure residents requiring additional memory support benefit from 24 hour-a-day professional healthcare. Our personal care staff are trained in dementia specific care, equipping them with strategies to enhance quality of life and secure indoor and outdoor areas provide residents and their families peace of mind. Our commitment to the management of pharmaceuticals and medical reviews for all our residents ensures we are able meet the individual needs of people with varied health issues and conditions. There may be a need to move within our facility if changes in care needs dictate

When a vacancy occurs, St. Paul’s endeavors to place the person who is highest on the waiting list. This can change if there is someone who has a high need and requires discharge from a hospital to residential care. St. Paul’s also has designated areas for lower care residents and higher care residents – the location will also be considered when admitting residents along with their care needs.

All St. Paul’s rooms are single with en-suite facilities. Some rooms feature a kitchenette and several of our rooms are large enough should partners wish to share accommodation. Sharing a room would be at the resident’s request.
